
Brian Steck
Brian brings a deep and diverse background in commercial real estate to his role as Director at The Thomas Company. With experience spanning institutional private equity, ground up development, and asset management for a publicly traded REIT, he offers a disciplined and strategic approach to single tenant net lease transactions. His expertise covers the full investment lifecycle from sourcing and underwriting to active asset management and disposition strategy.
Brian has worked across a wide range of real estate product types, including industrial, office, self-storage, senior housing, and mixed use, giving him a broad market perspective and the ability to identify value in both core and niche sectors. Brian has worked with institutional investors, private equity sponsors, family offices, and developers to evaluate risk, structure deals, and drive investment performance.
Before joining The Thomas Company, Brian served as Director at Cold Summit Development, where he was responsible for underwriting, deal structuring, and investor communications for large scale cold storage developments across the U.S. He led financial modeling, due diligence, and leasing analysis, while also managing ongoing partner reporting and asset performance for active projects.
Prior to Cold Summit, Brian was an Associate at Iron Point Partners, a real estate private equity firm based in Washington DC. Over four years, he underwrote more than 100 acquisition and development opportunities across a variety of asset classes including NNN, industrial, office, self-storage, and senior housing. He participated in nearly $300 million in closed transactions and supported portfolio level asset management initiatives such as leasing, refinancing, dispositions, and quarterly valuations.
Brian began his career at Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, where he was involved in the asset management of full-service hotels in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington DC. He played a key role in the post-merger integration of 36 assets and oversaw the execution of more than $30 million in capital improvements and brand repositioning efforts.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate. Outside of the office, Brian is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys skiing, mountain biking, kiteboarding, golfing, and running trails near his home in Sun Valley, Idaho.
